What is Scan for Points? How does it work?
Scan for Points is a gamified feature that incentivizes end-users to actively contribute to the development and improvement of the World Mobile Network. While scanning, your phone connects to the nearest available network and collects data such as ping, download and upload speeds. This data is then used by us to ensure the rollout of our network happens in the places where meaningful connectivity is most needed.
As you scan you are awarded points, based on the location of your scan. Hexes that haven't been scanned before are worth the most points. Hexes you have scanned are marked in green. As you scan, the app will trigger a heartbeat when you enter a new hex. Each heartbeat will mark these hexes as pending. When we confirm the scanned hex, you will be awarded the corresponding points available for that hex and the hex will turn to green.
