What is the most effective way to scan?

First and foremost, scanning frequency depends on heartbeat scans performed every minute, meaning faster speeds may result in more missed hexes between scans and interference from materials in a vehicle or other method of transportation, leading to potential gaps in the scan map. This makes walking preferable to driving.

The Default scan settings are designed for optimal battery use. If you’d like to customize the settings, to conserve battery life, balance the heartbeat frequency and scanning duration based on your movement speed and scanning needs. Lower frequencies and shorter durations reduce battery consumption, while more frequent heartbeats and extended scanning sessions use more battery power.

If the frequency is set too low while you are moving at a higher speed, some hexes might not be scanned, leading to gaps in your scanning itinerary.

If your screen is off, some devices with strict battery-saving policies may affect the scanning. To make sure your scan goes uninterrupted, please use the Map Lock feature on the map.

Battery optimization settings on your Android device may impact scanning. Please disable these settings for the World Mobile app to improve the scanning performance.
